As part of the 2015 COFACE thematic year on vulnerable families, COFACE has worked on the topic of financial inclusion with the objective of compiling the good practices of COFACE members inside a compendium.
The initiatives included in the “COFACE Compendium on Financial Inclusion” deal with the financial situation of families such as work on family budgets and the importance of saving, solidarity loans, social loans (micro-credit), information to families about financial/budgetary issues, help/advice for families on financial matters, prevention of overindebtedness, debt mediation/debt relief, lobbying/advocacy campaigns for better national regulation on financial services/financial inclusion etc.
On the 1st of February, COFACE is organising a cocktail reception from 6pm to 8pm at the EESC’s Atrium in Brussels, for the official launch of its Compendium on Financial Inclusion.
The cocktail reception will be timed to coincide with a meeting of the EU Commission Financial Services Users Group and reach directly key policymakers and stakeholders in the field of financial services.
We hope this publication will help pushing for policy measures that promote more responsible lending and borrowing, prevent overindebtedness and promote financial inclusion and access to quality/fair financial services.
