On 16-17 May, the Positive Online Content (POSCON) focus group met in Zagreb to discuss the upcoming campaign about positive content awareness week to be held between the 25th of September until the 29th of September 2017.
Building on the outcomes and deliverables of the POSCON project funded by the European Commission, the POSCON network has continued its work under the framework of the Better Internet for Kids programme, coordinated by EU Schoolnet.
In the following months, a number of stakeholders including the Safer Internet Centers will be consulted to update the repository of positive online content, and a new website will be launched to help share the results of the survey. Parents, children and teachers will be able to directly benefit from the resources listed on the website, while content providers will have access to good practices and a checklist to improve the content available via their services.
COFACE Families Europe has been involved in POSCON during the project and actively participates and supports its current work. Access to quality, positive content online from a trusted source is of utmost importance for families. Many family organisations, members of COFACE Families Europe, are engaged in identifying positive content for children online and will contribute to feeding the POSCON repository to increase their out-reach.
