APF France handicap mobilises across France demanding more rights for people with disabilities

In 2017, Emmanuel Macron, then presidential candidate, identified disability as a priority for his five-year term. Today, he has not met his commitments regarding disability policy: rights are not being applied, or are even in decline, situations are deteriorating and public policies are not taking into account the expectations of people with disabilities and their families.

To denounce this alarming situation, APF France handicap has decided to mobilise by launching their APF France handicap caravan “En route pour nos droits!” to carry their demands across France from May 7 to 14, 2019, with 22 minibuses converging on Paris, departing from Rennes, Strasbourg, Grenoble and Montpellier.

They have also written an open letter to the President so that the demands of all people with disabilities and their families can finally be heard. You can read the letter here. This letter was sent to the President of the Republic on May 14.
