From words to actions –
shedding light on the S.H.I.F.T. towards meaningful inclusion in Europe
11th May 2021
The S.H.I.F.T. guide for the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their families, adopted end 2019 by COFACE, was the result of a long co-production work with the COFACE Disability Platform for the rights of persons with disabilities, their families and their carers.
It is composed of 5 objectives, 15 tools, and 45 actions in the areas of Support, Human rights, Independence, Families and society Transition to achieve meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities and their families.
We are keen to bring S.H.I.F.T to the next level, to reflect on the framework and to launch of a European collection of good practices. The shift towards inclusive societies for persons with disabilities, their families and their carers, is not a dream, but happening already in many countries and communities across Europe. With the recent adoption of the 2021-2030 European Disability Rights Strategy, the EU commits to fulfill the promises of the UNCRPD, COFACE wants to show how our guide S.H.I.F.T. can be used to advance this agenda and how actors all over Europe are already putting S.H.I.F.T. into practice for the meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities, their families and carers.
With this webinar on 11th May with COFACE Disability and COFACE members, partners and friends, we aim to unlock the potential of our guide S.H.I.F.T. to:
- Trigger the meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities, their families and their carers, all over Europe.
- To launch a European collection of existing S.H.I.F.T. good practices.
Join us to learn more about S.H.I.F.T., hear reactions from key stakeholders, and help promote a whole society approach to inclusion of persons with disabilities, their families and their carers.
