Working Group "EDUCATION AND NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES"


Role

The remit of the Working group ‘Education and new information technologies’ is to give families a voice at European level on these issues. In particular, COFACE called on European and national policy-makers to emphasise the key contribution of European policies and programmes in these fields to the fight against poverty and social exclusion.

To this effect, the Working Group, comprising representatives of the various COFACE member organisations, draw up draft policy positions. After adoption by the Administrative Council, these policy positions are sent out to the EU institutions, to national authorities and to the media.


Programme for 2008

- Role of parents in school success/failure, drop-outs.
- Parent training (parenting, new information technologies, formal/informal education).
- School family relations.
