The Consumer Working Group is COFACE's body tasked with mainstreaming the family dimension across consumer issues
- It gives a Community-level voice to family organizations working in the consumer field.
- It is consulted by the European institutions (Commission, European Parliament, European Economic and Social Committee) on a range of topics and is involved in consumer-related European projects.
- It is an associate member of the European Commission's European Consumer Consultative Group, which is routinely consulted on Community consumer protection policy matters.
- It keeps its members and families briefed on the activities of the European institutions, and informed about courses of action in cross-border disputes.
- It also publishes opinions on health and consumer protection, and policy positions on related issues.
