COFACE’s activities in the field of education encompass many aspects of the EU Lifelong Learning Policy, including issues such as:

- Pre-school education, primary education, and out-of-school childcare
- Adult education
- Educational provision for migrant children
- School success
- Cross-cultural exchanges

Guiding principles to COFACE’s activities are:

- Recognition of the family's importance in the education of children;
- Free and equal education for all;
- Approaching education in a single and holistic way, including pre-school education;
- Valuing and recognizing the role of family organisations in adult education.
