Education of consumers ought to be guaranteed since early age. It begins in the family frame where parents should take the responsibility for making their children aware of healthy nutrition. Providing children with healthy food allows them to grow in good health. Parents are also responsible for letting their children grow in an environment of child-friendly media.
The education of consumers should continue at school due to the programmes for information concerning the protection of consumers' rights. Although education lays in the competences of member States, the European Union can also contribute to the awareness of society by supporting the education of consumers.
