The Commission published last 12th July in the Official Journal of the EU the WLB Directive in all EU languages (from now on Directive (EU) 2019/1158). The Directive will enter into force 21 days after its publication in the Official Journal.
You can find below an updated page of COFACE’s work on WLB, which includes at the bottom the Directive translated in all EU languages.
Therefore, the publication of the WLB Directive means that our #iwantworklifebalance campaign is now officially over, but the battle for gender equality and work-life balance for all families is far from over.
COFACE Families Europe will keep pushing for non-legislative and legislative actions to make sure the European Pillar of Social Rights is well implemented.
You can find below a link to our #iwantworklifebalance campaign, which includes a cartoon where our two favorite penguins, Uno and Due, talks about the publication of the Directive and look forward for new challenges and adventures (uptakes of leaves by men, recognition of carers, access to ECEC etc.)
