Linking national and European campaigns: Spotlight on the European Parliament elections
This afternoon session will focus on a specific case study where we can potentially join forces between national and European campaigns: The upcoming European Parliament elections. For this, we have invited an external expert to give us a fresh perspective and stimulate reflection.

13.00-13.30 COFACE European Parliament election campaign explained: state of play, opportunities & challenges

13:30-14:30 Where do we go from here: Talking themes and trends in regard to European Parliament elections  
By external communications expert Julien Clerckx
-Insight into mastertrends and themes- what to look out for.
-Recognise challenges and opportunities for European and national campaigns

14:30-15:15 Workshop on creating a national campaign about the European elections
For this we will divide into small groups to brainstorm together, taking a specific country example as a starting point to create a campaign strategy (target groups, messaging, channels for communication, influencers, etc).

15:15-16:00 Presenting outcomes of the group discussions
Each group will present the results of their brainstorm, and collectively we will look at:
-Strengths and weaknesses of campaigns
-Debating key questions:

  • Who is the audience/target?
  • What is the message?
  • How to engage members to the campaign?
  • Which outcome is useful/achievable?

16:00-16:15 Wrapping up and end of seminar. Next steps?
