The European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee are launching the call for expressions of interest to participate to the 5th meeting of the European Migration Forum, which will take place on 3-4 April 2019. The European Migration Forum is a platform for dialogue between civil society and the European institutions on issues relating to migration, asylum and the integration of third-country nationals.
The meeting will focus on safe and regular migration, for both humanitarian and other reasons, including a reflection on how to implement the Global Compacts on Migration and Refugees and on the role that civil society organisations and other local actors can play in this interaction between the international and the local dimension. Other topics suggested by participants may also be considered if they are closely linked to the main topic of the Forum. It will also be possible for the participants to present successful projects to others in the form of a gallery/stands during the evening reception.
The event will have an interactive, participatory approach. The core of the event will consist of workshops, discussion islands and other opportunities to participate in the debate. All participants will be expected to contribute to discussions and work in groups.
More information and the on-line application form are available on the EESC Forum website.
The deadline for applications is 14 January 2019.
