On the International women’s day on 8 March, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the current situation of gender equality in the EU and the priorities for future. The consultation will be open till the end of May, and we recommend that organisations representing families respond to this consultation, to bring their important perspective of shared parenting, shared caring, gender stereotypes in childhood and more.
The Commission seeks to gather input from a broad range of stakeholders, including: public authorities and administrations, professional and business associations, trade unions and trade union associations, businesses, women’s and men’s associations, LGBTI associations, national equality bodies, labour inspectorates, other national bodies, citizens, civil society and non-governmental organisations, academics and research funding and performing organisations, including universities as well as the general public.
Why the EU is consulting
The aim of this public consultation is to collect views concerning gender equality in the EU at present as well as future priorities. Your contributions will help the next Commission set its gender equality policy priorities.
