    • Disability in the European Pillar of Social Rights, the Semester and future EU budget

11.30-12.30 Building common tools

We will explore the possibility of adopting a COFACE typology of community-based services for persons with disabilities, in order to start defining the type of services that families want (core values, key dimensions, operational service criteria to be taken into account).

12.30-13.30 Lunch break
13.30-15.30 COFACE added value and future action

This session will be the opportunity to brainstorm together in groups and then collectively on the best way for COFACE to add value to the work of members. We will start with a brainstorm on emerging priorities and discuss possible common actions (campaigns, study, transnational projects, research) with 2020 and 2030 in mind. Thinking both in the short-term and the long-term.

List of the topics to be discussed:

  • Next steps in our actions on family carers (long-term care package under European Pillar of Social Rights / support / positioning for the next ESF+ funding)
  • Sports and disability (COFACE Disability 2020 event linked to Italian special Olympics / Declaration on Disability and Sport)
  • Disability and parenthood (members’ activities in place/Erasmus+ project?)
  • Ageing of family carers (research/exchange between members/position paper)
  • De-inistutionalistation (10th EEG anniversary: next decade DI priorities?)
  • FOXP2: a website that connects families of young disabled people across Europe with the aim of facilitating language travel on the assumption that families share the same facilities and know-how (could COFACE Disability play a role there? Which one?)

15.30 End of meeting
